RSP posts record hot metal, crude steel output

RSP clocked a capacity utilization of 118 per cent and 117 per cent in its production of hot metal and crude steel respectively in November this year. The steel unit"s success also percolated to its downstream units with its plate mill recording a production of around 39,000 tonnes of plate mill plates, achieving a capacity utilization of 158 per cent. RSP also churned out about 26,000 tonnes of hot rolled plates, representing a capacity utilization of 339 per cent. The steel unit"s performance was also impressive taking into account the April-November period of this fiscal. During this period, RSP produced 4.73 lakh tonnes of hot metal, 13.81 lakh tonnes of crude steel and 12.4 lakh tonnes of saleable steel, achieving capacity utilization of 110 per cent, 109 per cent and 111 per cent respectively.
