There's a new Guiness World Record for projection mapping, begging the questions, "Where can I find this video projection masterpiece?" and "Who knew there were Guiness World Records for projector installations?"
The award-winning video mapping presentation in question is the centerpiece of the 60th anniversary of Singapore's National Day (SG60) on August 9. To mark the anniversary, the city-state will be transformed into a sea of flags—both physical and digital. A projection mapping show, designed and integrated by Hexogon Solution, will be displayed on official buildings and corporate headquarters. The installation features an astounding total of 204 Panasonic PT-RQ35K 30,500-lumen 4K projectors.
UOB Bank is the centerpiece of the event, as Southeast Asia's largest bank also celebrates its own 90th anniversary by a projecting a 280-meter-high image onto its headquarters on the Singapore River in a six-minute show called "Unity." The animation, directed by Creative Director Benjamin Tan, showcases the bank's history and values in three acts.
The show's award-winning technology integrator, Hexogon Group, is known in Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Vietnam for its extensive fleet of cutting-edge high-lumen digital projectors and advanced audiovisual and lighting technologies. In addition to its most recent world records, its achievements include setting industry records, a Guinness World Record in 2015 during the 28th Southeast Asian Games, numerous world firsts.
For the show, which runs from June 28 to August 9, 2025, Hexogon Solution was awarded three Guinness World Records titles: Highest Projection Image of a Building, Largest Light Output in a Projected Image, and Longest Architectural Projection-Mapped Display.
As part of the UOB's long-term commitment to supporting the arts, a second projection show is the UOB Painting of the Year Showcase. It features projections inspired by the 30 award-winning UOB POY artworks. Launched in 1982, UOB POY is the longest-running art competition in Singapore.
The projected artworks were divided into three different collections: the Timeless Collection, featuring award-winning artworks from 2015 and earlier; Contemporary Collection 1, featuring artworks from 2016 to 2020; and Contemporary Collection 2, featuring artworks from 2021 to 2024.

Finally, to support the SG60 celebrations, the UOB Plaza 1 building will be illuminated with various SG60-themed projections, commemorating Singapore's 60 years of independence. The projections include a visual animation in which the SG60 logo blends into the UOB90 logo. The projection will also feature "Majulah Singapura," a hyperlocal artwork by artist Sam Lo, celebrating Singapore's multicultural identity and collective spirit.
